Sorry this is super late....I have been busy and tired. I went into the hospital last thursday 5/6/10 because I was having contractions again and they were 5 minutes apart. When I got there and they got me all hooked up the contractions stopped! They kept me anyway and broke my water at 4:30 induced me with pitocin at 5pm. Kevin took the girls home and tried to find a babysitter. Thankfully he did find one and got to the hospital at 6pm. It came time to push, I told the nurse I had to push and she said I was only at 8 she did that for 3 contractions and on the 3rd the baby came out! The doc was not ready and said "Somebody catch the baby I don't have my gloves on!!" Everyone looked around lost....none had gloves on and finally a nurse reached over and grabbed the head with a towel. He was born within seconds. Kai was born at 7:30 pm 5/6/2010. 8lb 1oz 19 1/4" long. I got to breastfeed him real soon after birth and he took to it real well....he does not latch on to the whole thing and still doesn't it hurts real bad but I seem to be making plenty of milk still and can't seem to force him to take the whole thing. He is a little bit jaundice but not enough to have to go under lights or stay at the hospital. He is super sweet and I love him so much.
Katelyn LOVES him to bits and is so nice to him and wants to help him all the time. Kianna is not too sure about him though. She steals his blanket and binki...she pushed him off me today while he was feeding...yeah we're working on it.
Congrats!!!! I am so happy for you. I am glad that everything went so smoothly, and that you had a quick labor.
Try to get some rest. Enjoy your sweet little baby. He looks precious.
Thank you everyone!! Dh has been super helpful since he has not been working. He goes back to work tomorrow. He steam cleaned the carpet, has kept toys picked up, finished laundry and put it away, did the dishes finally and cleaned the counters and sink, mopped the kitchen floor....We Kianna proofed Katelyn's room so Kianna can officially move into her room any time. Katelyn is super excited so we may be moving her sooner than later.
