Kids & Cell Phones
UGH!
This has been a very stressful topic in our house lately. My son is 12 and the majority of his friends have cell phones. I do not feel he needs one as I'm home with him all day and any time he goes some place I have the parents number (I know all his friend's parents).
His argument is "well, what if I want to call one of my friends". My answer is we have a house phone for that. I just don't get it. Granted, it is only an extra $10 a month but I just don't see the purpose. I don't allow him to run all over town without supervision. I know where he is and who he is with at all times. Heck, he can't even go on the computer without my supervision.
Am I being too protective? I would appreciate some input from outside eyes.
