Default kid's sports snacks

My 9 year old DS is playing football for the first year. He played baseball for the past 2 years and snacks weren't really an issue. It was a community sponsored league and they provided snacks donated from local companies. But, in his football team it seems to be a big ordeal. Each family is assigned to one game to bring snacks. We've had 4 games ---at 2 they were given sack lucnhes with sandwiches, chips, gatorade 1 had fruit snacks and 1 had applesauce---the other 2 games the parents in charge of snacks BBQd burgers at the game. WOW! When I was in sports we got orange slices...the cool parents brought granola bars! Granted that was 20+ years ago...but still. lunches and burgers, really?
So, we're this far into the season and I haven't said anything, my week is two games away so it'd be tacky for me to object now....so what do I do?Money is tight, but I can handle maybe $10-15. Gatorade for 18 players would be about $12 alone.
I don't like the sandwich idea! I made my DS wait to get in the car to eat, then I wouldn't let him eat the sandwiches..mayo and lunchmeat fears...I'm not BBQing at the game...I want to watch the game and DH is helping coach.
So, what to bring, what to bring? any ideas????

thanks!
