I know this topic is pretty old, but thought I'd chime in for those looking for great travel deals in Vegas. I found this great resort near the strip, but not quite on it called the Desert Rose. It's only a short distance to the strip and very close to the MGM Grand. The rates their are great. When I went last month, I paid $89 for a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, living room area and private bathroom. It looks like a converted apartment turned into a resort. We saved alot of money (it was me, my hubby and our 2 kids) just dining in instead of eating out every night. The kitchen had silverware, dishware, pots and pans and a full size fridge to stock up at the grocery store, which was about a mile from the resort. Also, the rooms were nice and big. We were'nt on top of each the the whole time because the rooms had a private bedroom, and the kids slept in the sleeper sofa in the living room. The had their own TV in there, so kept my hubby happy when he wanted to watch the basketball game, while the kids watched Nickelodeon.
It was perfect! I booked it online at
www.desertroseresort.com. They have a bunch of other properties that are very similiar with kitchens & private rooms. We are planning our next trip to Disneyland this spring, and they have a resort only blocks away from the park. Can't wait!
