Default learning to speak Hebrew

I am not Jewish, but my brother married a lady who was raised in Israel and is non practicing. Her whole family is still practicing and only her imedate family speaks English. whenever her relatives come to visit they have to translate for us. I would like to learn to speak Hebrew ... simple conversations is fine ... any good programs or CD's to recommend? I would kinda like to surprise her with this as a present .... the next big family gathering. probably Hanuka

eventually i would like to learn to read it as well - but for now to speak simple sentences would be fine.

thank you!

(Hi, i'm new )
You should use wikibooks, it's one of the best sites on the web.

By the way, Hebrew isn't so easy..
I'm in the tenth grade, and in israel, you learn it for all twelve years.
