Default Life Breathing Rules To Get Out Of Current Economic Troubles.

Peace be upon all!

The financial crisis has shaken and continues to haunt the whole world. I believe that the real solution out of these troubles lies only in gaining nearness to God and following His teachings. According to Caliph of latter day peace maker (Ref: analytic sermon, 31 oct 2008 at w.alislam.org) the world must pay attention to the following rules to put a stop to such economic crises and get new life:

1. One learn to stay within one’s means - at personal and national level.
2. Be satisfied with what one can easily afford and do not be overwhelmd with bigger houses and bigger cars forcing oneself into the system of debt.
3. Abstain from interest/usury.
4. Rich nations should not try to gain control over natural resources of other countries. The underprivileged countries should have the confidence that their resources will be used for the benefit of their country only even when there is international intervention.
5. Heads of nations should be faithful and patriotic to their own countries.
6. The rights of poor must be fulfilled.

These rules are based on Islamic teachings, therefore it is Islam that presents the most sound solution to the crises the world faces today. Righteousness / Taqwa is a must if one wishes to prosper.

Salvation only comes if people pay heed to the words of God and believe in spiritual leader sent by Him to create real peace.

The easiest way for the US would be to stop with their illegal wars, same the the UK.

War or not, my take on the OPs post is a spiritual discipline to survive the global situation right now, along with a general guideline for behavior of leaders of nations.

Who among the Muslims here can comment on the 6 precepts outlined above? I know from having worked with Muslim clients in real estate, abstention from usury is important for many people.

"Abstention from usury" ~ please explain what this is to non-Muslim friends.

Usury is charging interest on a loan, usually means above a reasonable rate. Even in low mortgage interest times, I have seen Muslim clients avoid standard mortgages, opting instead for private financing.

Here is more from Wikipedia about usury and the Qur'an
