Default Little Girls and Yeast Infections?

Last night after her bath, Alex pointed to her girly area and was saying, "Owie. Owie." over and over. She knows what an owie is, and when something hurts, so we took her seriously. I took a look, and sure enough it was really red, kind of raw looking. It also looked like stuff was coming out, and it was wet, but then again, she just got out of the bath. I'm not sure what was bath, and what wasn't.

She's been having icky poops lately that are squishy, so the poopie gets into the area. I'm wondering if that has caused an infection of some sort. Maybe a yeast infection?? (When I mentioned this to DH last night he was like, "So... Uh.. Do I have to go get some Monistat or something??" HAHAHA!) I made an appointment for today. I'm nervous as to what it is! I feel so bad for her! She's been digging in her diaper lately, and trying to get her pants and diaper off. It's obvious she is very uncomfortable. I kind of wish we would have taken her in to Urgent Care last night. Anyway, her appointment is at 12:50 today, so we'll see how that goes!

(((HUGS))) let us know how the appointment goes...hopefully it isn't an infection but just a slight irritation...does she have lots of bubble baths? Little girls shouldn't have too many of those...only once in a while as they can be irritating and cause infections...Hope she will get some relief and feel better after the appt!!

My Emma has had a yeast infection before, and the ped said it stemmed from too much acid in her diet. She was eating a lot of fruit and then drinking juice that was too strong. Try diluting her juice 1/2 and 1/2. Also, Calmoceptine (in a green and white tube... you might need to ask the pharmacist for it) works wonders! The doctor might have you mix it with a medicated powder, too. It cleared Emma up in 2 days!

Sorry she's so uncomfy!!!! I hope the doctor gives you something for her and she starts feeling better soon. I am not sure if poop causes yeast infections but it does sound like a yeast infection to me...of course there are lots of infections out there so who knows?

Awww!! Poor girl. I hope the Dr. figures out what it is and can give you some help in dealing with whatever it is.

Meh. Turns out it was just nothing, I guess? She has had squishy poops lately, so the poopie could have irritated it. They told me to use Hydrocortizon (spelling) on the outside lip area, to help with the redness and swelling.
