Default Parents of College Students: How do you Think Yours are Doing?

I currently have two children attending University (Different Ones and State Rivals at that).

My oldest son is 22, and got his Bachelor's Last June but seems to feel he needs to get his Masters...before entering the work force.

My Daughter is 21 and will get her Bachelors this June but, has informed me that she intends to get a PhD and that I should not expect her to finish school for YEARS.

My husband and I were wonderfully supportive of providing financial assistance to Both children in order to get their Bachelors Degrees and we don't Feel the Need to continue to provide As Much if Any for further education. How do other parents of college students feel about being seen as a cash cow for YEARS of advanced education?

Do you think we are wrong to cut it off at the undergraduate level? After all we have two more little ones and a retirement to plan for.
