I live a very sheltered life in my own little bubble, so it seems.

We have had a breaking case locally where a
man that is
a minister of a church,
former policeman,
youth counselor,
Big Brother-Big Sister volunteer,
and is a clown/magician
has now be arrested on porn charges.

I do not know him personally, but many people do in this community
where he and his wife have dressed-up like clowns
for church,
Bible School,
and volunteering their clowning locally.

Apparently he had been to the Philippines to help with an orphanage.
Upon his return to the USA, the FBI discovered this man's secret and arrested him.

My opinion? This is one very sick man.

My son thinks clowns are evil. He had a practical joke played on him at a street fair at age three by a guy in a clown suit who didn't know how to be funny to three year olds. My son just kept standing in front of the guy, staring at him sadly, waiting to get the joke. It totally creeped the clown. So now at 17 we have rants about bah clowns are evil.

BTW, John Wayne Gacy used to dress up like a clown.

Not to insult real clowns, who are artists at clowning - but there are some very sick people out there who are attracted to the image.

Reading that gave me the creeps...He wanted to edit the pics to show his church so that they could see how poor they were, they couldn't afford clothes...what a load of **!!! I don't even want to imagine the other things he has done...Truly disgusting...and the letter he wrote in the 80's....??? Unbelievable...those poor children...Most of the positions he held were positions of trust and authority...grr...you just never know even under the utmost scrutiny and screening...scary!!!!

There never seems to be an end to the amount of people in trusted positions that are willing to take advanage of our children. As parents we need to do more and stop this violation and put these sicko where they belong. I know that everyone has a right to live ther life and do things they want to do but enough is enough. I new there was a reason that i didnt like clowns..................

More to this story on the front page of the newspaper today.

It keeps having more ripples as the story progresses.

This man was also active in Boy Scouts, (did not state in the newspaper what particular position or which BS Troop,) but he has
been stripped of his association w/ Boy Scouts.

His wife has served him divorce papers.

There is a different man in Chicagoland, 4 hours north, that has the same clown name, "Klutzo," that has no association with this arrested man.

Since they had the same clown name, the Chicagoland man has been getting hate mail and hate phone calls with people thinking he was the local man. Because of the clown name, "Klutzo," is now associated with the arrested man, the other
man has now had to quit clowning. On the front page of the newspaper today, he stated, he wants no association with the other arrested man.

I'm thinking there is more yet to come.

I assume you mean he was arrested for child porn? My very first thought is-what's the evidence? I feel our society is very "pedofile paranoid" and it's almost like the witch-hunt days where they'd throw women in the water to determine if they were witches or not. Anyone can accuse someone (especially a man) of touching a child inappropriately-and there life is over. Period. The public is very unforgiving and suspicious-and in these cases they're always guilty and almost never proven innocent (even when in fact they ARE innocent).

With all that being said-I know that it's out there. This man may very well have been involved in it-and that's despicable and worthy of hatred. But I reserve my judgment until all the facts are out-and I do NOT trust the media. They spin things for shock value only.

Many kids are afraid of clowns, including one of my own when she was small. Ironically, this is a character that is readily presented to kids at an early age.
