I never would have thought it! i prayed and prayed to get to 37 weeks because I was so sure that I was going to go into labor way early. Now look. I am 39 weeks today, barely a fingertip dilated, and not even close to beginning to efface! My doc said that it doesn't look like baby is coming on its own. I know, I know people can go from zero to 60 in hours, but it doesn't look like that's the case with me. I just don't get it! I have consistent contractions, excrutiating pelvic pain... and I have nothing to show for it. Baby is head down but I am worried they are backwards and NOT putting pressure on my cervix.
when I was pregnant with Mikael, I was dilated to 1 for over a month. I ended up going into labor the day before I was scheduled to be induced. I kinda hope that will happen here, except if thats the case I would have to deliver ON my due date. And I am not entirely sure the due date is right...
I have tried everything... EPO, RRL, exercise ball, spicy spicy food, eggplant parmesean. The only thing I haven't done (and by golly probably the thing that will do it) is sex, but thats because SO won't do it. I even bought castor oil at the advice of my doc, but I am just not sure if I can go through with that. The pooping would bother me, esp. if I was pooping during labor. No thanks. But I am starting to get desperate.
I feel so disappointed that the baby won't get to choose it's own birthday! It looks like I will be induced Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. He said that the cervical dilation process will be an "overnighter" because I am still so long. ugh.
And on top of it all I have the worst cold ever. I just don't get it.
Sorry for whining. I am thankful baby is healthy and that we are going to our due date. I just keep hoping maybe something will happen this week... I just don't know what else to do.
