Is it just an instinct? Is there some particular thing that signals to you that in this case "any" doesn't really mean "any"? I'm trying so hard to learn all this, and I'm struggling to glean insights from more experienced and wiser couponers. Stuff like this, the intuitive, unspoken stuff that everyone else seems to just know, is always the hardest.
