I want to celebrate the first day of school in some special way this year. My oldest is going into 7th grade and my middle into first grade. Any ideas for some special thing we can do - maybe start a first day of school tradition?
I know that when I was growing up, my parents would take me to breakfast on special days, like end of the year awards cermonies and the like. Maybe you could make a special breakfast on the first day of school, one with the works. Or you could go to a restaurant for a nice breakfast. Sure, they will have to get up earlier, but I think the good food and time together would make it worth it.
