I figured I would let everyone know that the insanity is starting. There are alot of different views on this. Some people truly believe there will be many attempts...and other think its going overboard. I personally think that racial hatred is still pretty strong, and if Obama makes president, he will have a very tough road ahead of him. I love that man though. I think he will bring the change we need, and I hope he is protected to the fullest extent!

I just want to say THANK GOD that this guy was a complete idiot. How in the world can someone, who is being targeted by the secret service for an assasination attempt, make a JOKE about it. I think my IQ dropped 20 points just reading that.

And this nut did have the weapons.

I was searched by the secret service when I visited Jimmy Carter's church in GA. They line everyone up, and run a metal detector over you. They are very nice about it - but hey, you are being checked out. They check people with wheel chairs and strollers separately, and they are very polite about it. They have dogs check out the tourist busses. They are looking you over before you are aware they are doing it - they start hanging around early, when the line starts forming.

They are not subtle.

The day I was there, the comment in line was that we were probably in one of the SAFEST places in the USA that day!

NOBODY jokes about carrying weapons when the secret service are attending to a president, former president, or candidate or their families. NOBODY. It is a threat that they are obligated to investigate.

This guy's threats made his classmates uncomfortable, and they reported him. You would think when he is being arrested and questioned, he would not make flip comments like that which point to the kind of weaponry he possessed. Reminds me of the creep "Travis Bickle" in the movie "Taxi Driver".

I think this jerk gets a Darwin award. His mouth could very well remove him from the gene pool. This is one for the "dumb criminals" file.

Honestly, I like Obama. I worry about his lack of experience and how he keeps flip flopping, but everyone does that. I'm afraid if he does become President, he would be assassinated or there would be an attempt to do so. I agree with you Jean. Racial hatred is very strong today. The only difference in todays world is....people hide there feeling. I too hope Obama is protected well if he becomes President.
