Default McCain on Letterman

Did you see McCain on Letterman last night?

Good one about Gordon Liddy. And it is a very apt comparison with Ayres. McCain could have really gotten into an argument further about Ayres Weatherman activities and pursued the 911 response further, even for Late Night. But he just hummahummahummad like an old Honeymooners Ralph Kramden rerun.

It was obvious that McCain and those who brief him did not see this coming. And really, when you pursue the angle of Obama's brief association with Ayres, you have to be looking for what your opponent can come back at you with. Sheer blindness to miss this. Or ignorance of history on the part of younger candidates (Palin) and the campaign wizards.

He could have done himself some real good on that program. He is striking out. I am really dissappointed in this one. If he can't hold up against a comedian, I don't want him getting surprised by a terrorist, a cabinet member, a colleague, or an opponent.

I didn't get to see it-I now have Satellite & don't get any local stations (or nbc, cbs, etc). I am waiting for it to be available though youtube.

I did see the NY charity speeches (roasts) they both did. I'm an Obama supporter, but I have to say McCain was really funny. I enjoyed his speech immensely.

Check the link in the original post. That's the condensed video. The full appearance is on youtube as well.

I have sattelite, and I get the local stations. Aren't they required to provide them, or is that just cable?

Hm...when I tried the link earlier, it took me to a sign in page. I'll try again now.

I think only cable is required. It can be offered for satellite customers if they're out of an area where over the air isn't available. Apparently, we should be able to get those channels with some rabbit ears, although I haven't tried yet. IF we were approved to get 'local' channels, they wouldn't be 'our' channels, but rather a large city's local channels. Ours would be NYC news, and I actually live closer to Ithaca, which is over 200 miles away from NYC! But-it would give me David Letterman and Desperate Housewives, so I wish I did get it.

OK, I got that too, don't know why. I just changed the link to go to lettermans homepage - the video is featured there, along with a bunch of others.

You're not going to be able to do the rabbit ears thing much longer. So they should be finding a way to provide those to you. Either that or some kind of converter so you can get broadcast. It is nutty to be paying for TV and not have access to the free stuff.

Are you able to get Verizon Fios in your area? I really hate my current DSL/satellite combo - Fios was so much better for everything and better channel selections too. When I first signed up with FIOS, they said yes, they do florida, you can move the account. Turns out they think this part of florida is alabama.

Yeah, I got the converter. Now I need a digital antennae. It's getting to be a pita.

Fios, DSL, and cable are not available where I live. I live out in the sticks, near a state forrest in upstate NY. Satellite or nothing, and that goes for internet too. Oh-there's dial-up, but who can stand that?
