Unhappy Measuring Small. What does that mean?

My doctor is having me get an ultrasound because he says I'm too small for how far along I am. (I'm almost thirty-three weeks) Does anyone know some possible causes for this? He didn't tell me any possible reasons for why I'm measuring small.

Did he hear the heartbeat at this appointment?

may mean that your due date will change. They changed my due date in the beginning a few times cuz he was smaller than they thought he should be according to my LMP.
I am sure everything will be fine with you and your baby.

Oh and does he mean fundus height? Like when they measure your belly? That can mean that the baby has stopped growing. . .it could also mean that he measured wrong. But if he's been measuring your belly with a tape measure all along, then you should be growing. If the baby is kicking and he heard the heartbeat. . .everything is most likely fine with the baby. . .but you may be looking at an earlier birth.

Not sure what it mean but I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. With my first preg my due date was changed four times( maybe because of the size?) I never asked why. take care

Yes, we heard the heart beat and he said it was normal. And he was talking about fundus height when he said I was small for how far along I am. But he didn't seem concerned he just scheduled me for an ultrasound in a week. I was wondering about low amniotic fluid. Has anyone ever experienced that?

Low amniotic fluid wouldn't cause you to measure smaller. He just wants to check and make sure that the baby hasn't stopped growing. Most likely, the baby was sitting in some weird position or something.

At this point I wouldn't worry, because there is nothing you can do until you have your u/s, and it may turn out that you are worrying over nothing If she is moving around, and there was nothing else amiss at your apt, those are great signs. The u/s will be able to tell you if there is a problem.

If it's any consolation I had an u/s at 35w that showed Norah measuring 10-12 days behind- but her fluid levels were great, she was moving around, and all her organs looked fine. When she was born she was in about the 5th percentile for weight, but perfectly healthy. Turns out that she was just meant to be small!
