Melaluca
Ok so most of you know me here, so you know that I'm not trying to promote anything! I'm just writing about this because I'm excited about it, and I want everyone else's opinions, if they have any!
Anyway, so my family (in laws and hubby and I) recently signed up for Melaluca. It's hard to explain, but basically it's an incredibly health/Earth concious company that sells their products via catalogs and online. You sign up for a one-time membership fee ($30), and then you have never-ending access to their awesome products! All their products are all-natural, even more so than the so-called "all natural" products you can get on the regular market. There is just so much to explain, so I won't really explain it too well. But here is an example of a something that happened recently- A toddler got into the cleaner cabinet and drank what was left in the Tub n Tile bottle (the cleaner that you would use to clean your tub, floors, etc.). The mom called poison control freaking out and the worker said, "No problem. Melaluca products are totally safe. Just give the child a glass of milk and he'll be fine!" If a person drank even the smallest amound to Soft Scrub or something similar that would be BAD news! Did you know that even 1/7 of a tsp. of Lime Away is enough to for sure kill an adult??
Anyway, my husband and I joined mainly for financial reasons, and just happened to learn all this other stuff in the process! (We had a person come to our house and present all this information and products to us.) So has anyone heard of this company? They have a huge variety of products- make up, shampoo, house cleaners, vitamins (their main seller), a few food items, etc. If you've been a member or are a member what did you think of it??

I have heard of it. Their products seem really good. The reason we did not sign up was it wasn't just the one time $30. You have to order so much ($30?) worth of stuff every month, if you didn't place an order, they sent you their featured product. We didn't think that it was worth that much. I make a lot of the cleaners we use, the very few that we don't make, I keep up high in the closet. But, I really would have liked to try their products.

Ok this is funny... I actually talked to a rep yesterday because I was considering it. It seems like a good idea. My only issue is that there is a sign up fee plus you have to order about $60 of products per month. So when you start up you are spending $100 and then $60 per month. I like the idea that all their products are earth/people friendly. I may invest in it next month. We are a green family and I hate all the chemicals that we clean with. I make my own detergent, but the rep I talked to said that they produce vitamins that absorb better in your body, shampoos, soaps, protein shakes, etc. So there are other products out there.
Also what I liked is that you aren't forced to have parties and all that.
Let's keep in touch and see how well you do if you join.

Thanks for the responses guys! I'm glad that others have heard of it, at least! In my understanding it would cost about $30 a month, but that's $30 worth of products (plus the one time $30 startup cost). It's not really a minimum dollar per month amount, but points. Each product is worth a certain number of points and you have to order 30 points worth of stuff. (Shampoo I think is worth 9 pts, vitamins themselves are well over 30 pts, etc.) And you do have to place an order every month, and if you don't they send you your "back-up" product. When you sign up you choose a back up product (we chose vitamins, I guess. It's their specialty!) and if you don't order they automatically send you your backup order. I really don't like that part at all... I don't like that you HAVE To buy something every month, since we probably wouldn't need things from them every month. But I guess in the long run it's worth it. It's money savings, plus green!
