Default Milestone Vacations

My husband came up with an idea that I just love. He suggested that when our children turn 5, we should take the family to Disney World for a vacation celebration and invite the extended family to join us (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.)

We're already planning for our first 5 @ Disney trip in 2009. That's where it gets interesting. See, we have a very snug budget, but if we have years to plan and save, we can do it. Our families think we're nuts to be planning so soon and yet when we told them about it and suggested they join us, they all said "We'll see if we can afford it in 2009".

We're also thinking about other vacation possibilities for other milestones like graduation from High School and graduation from College. Has anyone else done this sort of thing or have any ideas on milestones to recognize with it?
