Okay, I know I am not the only one, but...
I am the proud wife of a Marine. We've only been married six years, so I am not all into the military jargon, but he is a Gunnery Sergeant and is stationed in Jacksonville, NC. Not the best place in the world to be (especially if you don't like Marine - there are something like 40,000 here), but certainly not the worst. My favorite duty station was San Diego - we lived there about five years ago.
I am lucky - being married only six years, we haven't made a ton of moves (only three) and he retires in two or three years. I sympathize with the young wives who go through moves frequently and have to deal with deployments. Unless something weird happens, DH won't be deployed before retirement.

Soon to be Military Wife
Hi my name is Noi Jackson, I am a wife to a very hard working and wonderful man. I am also a mother to 3 very busy children they are all under the age of 5. I am a stay at home and I wouldn't want any other recognition.
My husband was in the Air Force from 1997 to 2001. When he separted from the Air Force we moved back to GA where he is originally from. He got a job at Georgia Pacific and has been there now for 5 years. During this time he also went back to school full time. He started in OCT of 2003 and now in OCT 2006 he will have his Bachelor Degree. He began the process of applying to Officer Candidate School for the Army about a year ago. He went before a Board of Officers and was accepted. Though he still has 6 months before he leaves for OCS. He is very excited and looking forward to returning to military life and serving his country.
I look forward to this new adventure with a very open mind. I know there will be many adventures along this path. My family is very dear to me and as long as we have one another it doesn't matter to much where life takes us.
Any one aout there have any advice feel free to offer it.
Noi Jackson

Wow! Noi, I'm sure your kids aren't the only ones who are busy at your place!
I think you'll find that being an Officer's wife and being an Enlisted wife are two completely different things. Good luck - it sounds like you've got the right mindset for the transition.
I'm an Air Force wife. My husband and I met when we were both in the Security Forces and stationed at RAF Lakenheath (England). After 8 years, I left Active Duty and signed on as Non-Issued Support Personnel (we got married ). Mark has since cross-trained into an Intelligence job that we can't discuss. We're currently in Colorado and hoping to get orders back to England (or anywhere in USAFE) again someday.

Hey ladies!!! I am a proud wife of a Marine!
I have been one for about a yr. We are stationed here at Camp Lejeune NC for about a yr.
DH has been in for about 4 1/2 yrs..He just picked up SGT. I concered myself pretty lucky b.c DH has a pretty understand 1st SGT and helps us with whatever we need. We pretty much have gotten to function like a normal family.
He is leaving sometime between Dec and Jan for Iraq for 13mons! This going to be our first deployment together. I am very scared..lol But I know he will be ok b.c he is leaving with the HQ's Element. We are currently trying to extend our family my two little feet, after our loss in April!
I am the Moderator for this thread...I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Hi, I'm Eliza and have been married for the past 10 years, we have three kids and one more on the way. Currently we are living in C.Lejeune, NC and am hoping to go back to C.Pendleton, CA eventually. I really miss that place. We've been to CA, AZ (Yuma...YUCK!) and here, he's been to more places though. I'm a military brat to top it off so I've never been out of the military lifestyle.

Hi my name is Karen, my brother is a Captain in the Army. He just got back from Iraq for the 2nd time. First time he wasn't married. Second time he was married with a newborn. To say it was difficult for my sister-in-law for the 12 months he was gone would be an understatement. He is currently due to come back stateside in January (can't wait to see him and his new family)....Anyway....I give you all the respect in the world. It is not easy for you at home or your spouse who is deployed. I'm not a very religious person, but war has a way of changing that....I keep you and all military families in my prayers. And above all THANK YOU for all of your sacrifices. Karen

You're right, Karen. Deployments aren't easy on soldiers or their families. Thanks for keeping all of us in your prayers. Every prayer helps

Hi,
I just wanted to jump in and say to all you military families, "thank you". I am a wife of a retired US Navy veteran, he's been retired for 6 years now. I know the sacrifices each of you have to make, the families that are left behind while the service member is deployed. My DH was in persian gulf for 13 months and I had 2 small kids at the time. I was living in VA. Bch. at the time and it was one of the hardest times for me. Anyway's enough about me, prayers and safe returns home to all!!!

Thanks, Leesa! I truly believe that military spouses are often called to sacrifice nearly as much as their military members do. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made
