milk again?
i havent been nursing aiyana for a couple months now and today i had some milk come from both breasts, what could this be from? im taking provera to bring af and would think the opposite would happen, any ideas?

I don't know....wierd thing is a year after Bf'ing Alejandro the same thing happendd to me...doc said it was hormones :rollseyes

Lessly's right. The hormone is prolactin. If the level remains high for some reason, you will still have milk. This happened to a friend of mine several years ago. A very high level of prolactin can cause infertility problems. Talk to your doctor about having the level tested if your periods are irregular or you don't conceive within 6 months of ttc. It works on the same principle as natural protection from pregnancy during breastfeeding.

thanx, i have PCOS so af is already irregular. its weird though cause i had low supply issues but the now doesnt want to leave ugh my body :rollseyes

I never lost my milk totally after I had Jack it was still there over 2 years later when I got pregnant with Molly.

I've heard stories of the milk staying for years, just coming sporadically. My childbirth educator for my doula classes told me that once a woman reaches 5 months of pregnancy she is capable of producing milk for the rest of her life. I thought that was interesting. Are you giving Aiyana any of the milk?

Ouch! You could always express it by hand into her cereal or mix it with her food.

ya i think im just going to express it, she saw them as toys anyways and kept petting at my nipple
