I have a few experiences that I want to check out. I know I'm not really postpartum, but all these have to do with having a baby so I'm posting here.

Anyway, I had Mirena inserted on Dec. 2nd, so just over a month ago. Devon is now 4 months old, and I'm bleeding like heck. It's obviously not from birth. I started bleeding the day I had Mirena put in, and it hasn't gotten better. (Hasn't gotten worse, though.) It's like a mad period, all the time. I soak tampons all day, every day. And yes, I use tampons, and yes I'm going to stick with them! ;P Also, about two weeks ago, I passed a couple of blood clots. I had a ton of clots during/after birth, but I'm concerned about passing them so randomly. Is Mirena known for clots? And when did you all stop bleeding, if you have Mirena?

I'm considering getting it taken out and getting Yaz. My sister in law loves Yaz, and I know it's a Lo birth control. But I got pregnant with Alex when I was on Ortho Lo, so that worries me! But I'm sure that was just a fluke.

Any thoughts? Advice? Stories? Thanks!!!

I haven't been on Yaz, but I've been on Yasmin (it's predecessor) and I loved it! Because of horrible periods/cycles I'd been on the pill since 16 (until the past few years when I've been pg or nursing for almost 4 continuous years). Yasmin was by far my favorite . It's what I was on prior to getting pg with DS and what I used in between breastfeeding and getting pg with DD. Both of those pregnancies were planned.

If DH doesn't have a vasectomy by the time I'm done breastfeeding DD I will try Yaz, but hopefully I won't need to go back on bc. (My periods got much better after having my DS!)

So you liked Yasmin? For some reason I thought Yaz and Yasmin were the same thing... I just realized now that they're not! SIL is on Yaz... She loves it. I'm really considering it. I'm still bleeding, and today I put in a tampon right after my shower, got ready (hair, makeup, the usual) and had to change it before I even left the house! It's angering me. I'm glad to hear that you liked it! Are Yaz and Yasmin similar? Also, are Yaz and Ortho Lo similar? I'm just scared that I would get pregnant on it. I'm sure it's all in my head though!
