Default Mispronounciations

My daughter was a precocious reader when she was very small. Often she would read books that were really too old for her so she got a few of the pronunciations wrong. She used to work out what the words meant OK but just didn't know how to pronounce them as her peers didn't use the words, I guess. Our favorite is the day that, as a 7 year old, she announced that she thought she was coming down with "p-noomia". It took us a while to work out she meant "pneumonia"!
