Default Mission Possible

LET'S TAKE BACK THE WEIGHT LOSS!

I am concerned about the amount of people I see starving themselves or using unhealthy means to lose weight. I am out to prove that you can lose weight simply by eating less and moving more. I am chronicling my own mission possible jounrney in the weight loss blog.

I invite anyone who wants to get healthy to join me. We can use this thread to talk about our goals, how we're doing and to support each other.

Today I posted about how much weight I have to lose. Tomorrow I am going to share my guidelines for dieting and my 'tricks' for losing weight.

Losing weight is possible!

I love your mission and will be checking in frequently! June 4, 2007 I began my new life. Right now the focus is on eating normally... eating the foods that I serve to my family, in the proper portions, and not using any gimiks, quirks, pills, or published diets. Later, there will be an emphasis on exercise. But I'm taking a realistic one step at a time. Thanks for the inspiration.

YES!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!!

Tomorrow, I will post a blog about my own goals and some things I'm using to help change my mentality. But this is exactly it. . .one small step at a time. . .little by little.

Glad to have your support!

I left a comment too. I'm very excited to see this trend & I hope many others pick up on it. Losing weight, or getting healthy, shouldn't cost anything more than perhaps a good pair of walking shoes.

I work 16 hours a week at a Stay Healthy clinic, where they provide community education services. They have a LOT of information about health.

Eating right and exercise lowers blood pressure, which greatly reduces a person's risk for heart attack, diabetes, or stroke.

Other benefits are mental clarity and good mental health. I was NEVER one who wanted to take time out every day do "work out". I didn't feel like I had the time, or energy. I've learned from experience that it DOES give you more energy to work out. My muscles are stronger. I walk faster-just going down the street from one store to another.

Not to mention my legs feel so strong-like I could kick someone's head off their shoulders I wouldn't do that unless I had to...but it sure feels nice to have legs like that!

HOORAY! Today girls, your assignment (you didn't know I was giving homework did you?) is to figure out your BMI. It's not in my blog yet but as I mentioned in someone's comments, I agree. . .I'm counting dress sizes and inches, BMI (an indicator of health) and ditching the scale. (Well I'm not ditching it completely. . .I do have a goal weight. . .but we'll talk more about that later.)

So go figure out your BMI and think about one weakness you'd like to change to lead towards a healthier lifestyle. I'll post the link to my weight loss manifesto later this morning when it is up.

Good luck ladies! Stay inspired!

Mission Possible: The Current State of Affairs

This is from yesterday. Today's hasn't gone live yet but when it does I'll link. I walked at least 5 miles yesterday as we went to the zoo and the gardens but bc we were out I didn't do so well on the eating front. But failure is not in my vocabulary. I learned that I need to prepare better for when we're going to be out.
