Default Moondance Alexander

This is a wonderful film that stars Don Johnson, the ice skater Sasha Cohen and an adorable Kay Panabaker who plays the lonley Moondance.

Moondance doesn't quite fit in with her school mates and finds a horse (you can probably see the rest coming....). They form a close bond, befreind a cranky trainer (Don Johnson) enter a jumping competition and win, beating the bully (Sasha Cohen).

The story line is pretty typical but I watched it with my kids and it opened up alot of dialogue afterwards regarding peer pressure, fitting in and just being a kid!

Great film!

Hi Jtipton -

We caught this over the weekend and it is a really great movie. You're right, it opened up alot of dialogue afterwards.

Unfortunately, since there is an adorable horse in the movie, the fam wanted to watch the Kentucky Derby and they had to euthanize that poor horse right on the track after it came up lame!

Wonderful film that inspires. Agreed that it opens up the conversation for talking about peer pressure. Kay Panabaker (Moondance) does a wonderful job and proves that you don't have to be the most popular to triumph. I'm so sick of all these lindsey lohan types being looked up to. There is a great song by Laura Wright that goes along with this movie too that I saw on GodTube.
