More news about my cousin
I went down to see my cousin today. She is still heavily sedated. She had aspirated into one of her lungs so she has an infection. I talked to her and told her that I loved her and that she needed to wake up so she could see how much my belly was growing. I saw her eyes move under her lids, but couldn't tell if that was a reaction or just her sleeping.
Many things are coming up about her suicide attempt and her life. Apparently she had kept alot of secrets from her entire family. She wasn't living in the house we all thought she was living in. She trashed it and moved out and was living in an apartment with her daughter and dogs. Apartently that apartment was trashed and she had changed the locks to where even the land lord couldn't get in. She was telling her daughter to lie about how they were doing and what was all going on in their lives. She owes a lot of money to several loan companies and credit cards... Not sure how much, but her daughter said it wasn't all hers... aparently she had been doing favors for friends and loaning them money... either they never paid her back or she blew the money on other things that paying her bills.
She also wrote a letter (not just her original suicide note) to her daughter... My grandmother said it was the most beautiful letter. They are keeping this letter away from the daughter for now... she is still very young and aren't sure if they should let her have it or not... I told my grandmother to give it to my uncle and have him keep it someplace safe.
Her daughter is going to stay with my uncle and his girlfriend... best place for her. My cousin wanted her best friends to care for her, but one of them is in poor health and is having surgery soon so that is out of the question. My uncle is going to have a meeting with her school's counselor and all of her teachers to discuss schooling, homework, catching up (she missed all last week), and counseling. Apparently the daughter has been having some discipline issues that I never knew about... nor did any of us know about... more secrets kept from us... I'm a teacher myself and I told my uncle that if he wanted me to I could contact and keep in touch with her teachers, homework, tutoring, etc. I also want to make sure that she is able to catch up. I also told him to email me if she has any homework questions. I don't want for her to lose her focus so much that she fails. Her life needs to be somewhat normal.
I'm kinda hurt about all the secrets and the lies, but I have a feeling that my cousin is dealing with an illness and I pray that she gets help. I'm not sure what illness she has, but I know that I mentioned before that she was on an anti-smoking medication and it was on the news the other night because some guy in another state killed himself and was on this medication... It also said that there are several other suicides around the country and people were taking this medication. I don't know if that aided in pushing her over the edge or what.
But this is the news I have so far... Truths are coming through... thankfully... her daughter is finally talking to us and giving information. The police are involved since it is a suicide attempt. In Texas it is a crime.
My cousin is going to need a lot of rehabilitation, prayers and love. I hope that all can be provided for her. Thanks for all your prayers... they are strengthening and they do work. God heals and he's healing my cousin. It's going to be a slow process, but that's ok. We want her back so she can get the help she needs.
