More than just a cold? *TMI* (Updated 10/2/2008)
Katelyn got sick on Friday and was coughing up a lung and breaking blood vessels in her face. I got sick on Saturday. Lots of coughing, sneezing, having a hard time breathing, and almost throwing up. Now green stuff is coming out of both of us. We don't have our new insurance yet!! So....do you think it's serious? I want to take her to the doctor because I do think we need antibiotics.....I think I do too......but I wanted to know what all of you think? We don't get sick here often.

I would say if she is having a hard time breathing then YES. If you have a cool mist humidifier, use it or put her in a steamy shower or bath to help break things up. Our doctor also says make sure she gets plenty of fluid to keep things loose.
A note on the breathing. I have asthma and a person can have asthma when they are sick. This can be very serious. She could stop breathing or pass out before you would realize she was in that much trouble especially while she is sleeping. I know how it is when money is tight but your daughter is worth so much more than money and her health could really be at risk right now.

I have asthma too...thanks. I woke up a dozen times last night cause I kept rolling on to my tummy and couldn't breath. I don't know if she does...I've been trying to listen for it but ya know It is hard to tell sometimes. She's so stuffy.....she's been snoring...I did just throw up...with a little bit of blood in it. I guess Orange juice isn't the right thing to drink. I gave her milk cause that's the only thing she'll take first thing in the morning. The steam isn't helping either one of us...which is weird...but it's humid here anyway.

That's what I was thinking....I actually prefer for it to be a infection cause then there is something we can do for it! I know that sounds backwards...but we're so pathetic right now. We should have our insurance in a few days.......I'm not really sure which day cause dh is supposed to be doing it.

Mikey was like that when he had an upper and lower chest infection, he got sickness the odd bit of sickness too, probably from all the coughing.

It started out clear...actually the first day her nose was clear! There wasn't anything just stuff comming up when she coughed and that was clear. Today is the first day of green and throwing up...I think I have a fever too. But I am not reallllly sure. I took tylenol and gave her some childrens too. I can't wait for nap time. I am so uncomfortable. I doubt i will be able to sleep though cause we both keep coughing...and it gets worse for me when I lay down.
