Default Moving on a budget

My daughter goes to school in Los Angeles and will be living off campus next year. We have a lot of extra furniture gathering dust in our empty nest, and I’d like to have it moved to her. Does anyone have experience doing a move like this? I’d really like to keep costs as low as possible and need San Diego packers who won’t charge an arm and a leg.

Why don't you move it yourself instead of paying someone else?

i only recommend hiring movers if it's a long distance (it often ends up being cheaper). but if you're staying in state, i have to agree with samual.. why not just move it yourself?

I agree with the previous two posters.. That was my first thought. Perhaps friends or family members have trucks or trailers that would be willing to help? That is free, with the exception of gas and maybe pizza as a thank-you.
