Default Murder Mystery Dinner

Has anyone ever gone to a Murder Mystery Dinner? We went to one last night, and it was so much fun. There were eight of us, each acting as a different character. Everyone gets a book of clues, and you go in rounds trying to solve the mystery. It was so much fun, that I bought a kit so that we can host one. We did it with my boss, my coworkers, and two guys that we just met. It was hosted by the grandmother of one of our preschooler. It was neat to meet new people by playing the game, and to get to know my coworkers in a new way. The whole thing took about 4 hours, but it was one of the most intriguing nights I've ever had.

Sounds like fun! I've always wanted to go to one of those. Its on my list of things to do now that's for sure.

I'm so glad you had a good time. Its nice to have an adult night every now and then.

I want to host one. Either that or a Stir Crazy dinner. Sounds like so much fun!

What a fun evening!
And it has a different twist for all involved.

Does it take a lot of preplanning for the host/hostess?

The host has to find the people and make sure they come. That's probably the hardest part, because the group should be evenly split male/female and you have to make sure that everyone shows up since you don't want the murderer to be a no show. Other than that, you just send out invites, pick who plays which character, and then hand out the necessary information when the guests arrived. The kits have everything. It looks pretty easy. The host can either just be there to watch or they be involved in the game.
