i really think you're being kinda over-protective here. you really had no right to make her break up with the guy, and yeah she is kinda immoral, but isn't that her choice? if she had no choice except to come and live with you, then you have no right to force no-dating rules on her. get her the pill, tell her to look after herself and stop being so over- protective. even if she is slow, she's 18! shes an adult and has the right to live her life how she wants.

What's so immoral about it, anyway? Not everyone recognizes or even respects the Biblical version of sexual morality.

Not everone may go to the Bible for direction, but it seems this family does. When raising a family you instil your own values to your children, in this case her niece, whom she has responsibilty for. I think it's understandable to want her niece to uphold behavior that that family deems appropriate. And I think she had every right to express her feelings on the situation. Especially when her niece is being so irrisponsible.

I hope the family was able to talk to her, and get her to understand, and make better choices.

Better choices: a condom and a nice soft bed.
Stupid choices: depriving yourself of something as great as sexual pleasure.

I have two daughters. This dad is going out of his way to demonstate how special they are. But more important that no matter what they do in life NOTHING will change my love and respect for them. None of us can tell what tomorrow is going to throw at us.....and 'not nice things' happen to the best of us. But I will support and respect all of my kids...I pray that now I am showing them in my actions and words now, so when those aweful things happen-if they do....they will know ,support from their family is a sure thing!
