Question My 3 year old is terrified of the potty...HELP!!

My daughter just turned three. We have been working on potty training for about a year now. When we started we knew she wasn't ready so we stopped and tried again. She has actually pooped in the potty a few times, but she cries and cries when she is doing it. But up until now she would at least sit on the potty and go. She has never peed in it. Well now she won't even sit on the potty. If you try to sit her on the potty she arches her back and starts throwing this fit yelling and crying that she doesn't want to sit on the potty. She knows when she goes in her pull up. I tried underware and she really could care less if she is wet in those either. It is really frustrating and we have no idea why she is so afraid of the toilet. We have asked her if she wants to sit on the big toilet instead of her potty chair, she won't do that either. We have tried stickers, rewards, candy the whole nine yards. It worked the first couple of times but now she doesn't even care. Any advice anyone could give would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks!

Have you tried using the potty the same time she does. You sit on the toilet and let her sit on hers to show her its not a scarry thing? I had to do that with my son because he would not poop at all in a toilet. I had to show him that is wouldn't hurt him to sit on it. I wish you luck.

Default Ask her

When she isn't anywhere near the potty, ask her if it hurts to go potty, or why she doesn't like the potty.
Are her stools normal? Any straining or constipation?
I have read where some toddlers are freaked out by the feeling of the poop falling away from them. Haven't had a kid like that, just read about it.
She could be cold or have some issues with her knees or hips.
My mom used to teach the boys to sit backwards on the toilet facing the tank, that way they were less likely to spray the wall and it was a natural progression to move from sitting to standing in front of the toilet. Maybe having the tank to hold on to would help her.
