Tuesday morning at 03.30 I felt my water breaking. I got contractions and at 07.30 we called our midwife. I was only 1 cm dilated and my midwife went away. My contractions stayed but were not strong enough to call again. At 15.00 my midwife came again to check me out and at that point I was only 2 cm dilated. She adviced me to drink castor oil and so my DH went to buy some and I drank it. It was awful :-\. I went upstairs to lay down a bit and at 18.30 my contractions were getting stronger. At 20.00 we called my midwife again and she checked me again. I was only 3 cm dilated, but she also told me that my water didn't really break that morning, but that it was just a leak. So I took a hot bath and my midwife stayed with me. At 22.30 she broke my water and then things really went a lot faster. At 23.45 I told her that I could feel the baby's head. She stood up to take a look ( she sat on the floor next to my bed ) and she said that I was right. At 23.53 I could start pushing and 2 minutes later my beautiful baby boy layed on my belly. He had his arm aside of his head when he came out, but it only took me 2 minutes to push and I had no stitches at all. I think it was a great delivery and I was very glad that I stayed at home. Right after my DH cut the cord I breastfeeded him. After that I went to take a nice shower and in the meantime my midwife and some people who were there to help cleaned my bed. So when I was fresh and clean I could step into my fresh clean bed. So I delivered my baby at home without any pain relief and I'm real proud of it.

Thank you all ;D. At home delivery's are very common here in The Netherlands so over here it's just something you do. It's also common to deliver your baby without any pain relief.

Congrats! That is a beautiful story! The castor oil really does work if your water has already broke. I drank it with my first two because my water broke and no contractions would come. I'm glad everything went well with you and your son.
