Talking My five birth stories

My first three deliveries are a blur. Sorry!
Jennifer's Birth Story
My contractions weren't strong enough so they had to give me some pitocin. Oh my God. That was horrible. I had taken La Maze classes and I was bound and determined to have her naturally with NO pain meds. Which I did. It is all a big blur to me, but on April 26, 1987, Jennifer was born weighing a hefty 8# 5 oz. 20 inches long. I remember it being such a relief that it was over and I swore that her father was never going to lay a hand on me again.

Kristina's Birth Story
This birth was incredibly hard, because she was so big. Almost 9#. She weighed 8# 15.5 oz. 20 inches long. She was born on July 20, 1989 after pushing for 2 hours. I remember it being very painful. I kept begging them for a c section. I wish I would've had a frying pan I would've knocked myself out. lol I didn't receive any pain reliever with this labor.

Ryan's Birth Story
Ryan's labor and delivery wasn't that painful or that bad, until he decided to come sooner then what they anticpated and I ended up ripping all the way up to my clitoris, because the nurse put her hand against my son's head while I was pushing becuase they didn't want him to be born yet. I do know that a big blood clot dropped on the doctors shoe. He weighed 8# 4 oz. and was 21.5 inches long. I was VERY surprised that he was a boy, and happy too. Again I had NO pain reliever. Ryan arrived on March 5, 1992.

Marissa & Caitlyn's Birth Story
I had called and begged my doctor to induce me that Tuesday, but he told me that he didn't do inductions on Tuesdays. That I had to wait until Thursday morning. 7:30 am. I had been having so much pain, and suffering carrying two babies. That Thursday I was so relieved when I went in to be induced. I was at 2 cm when I went in. They broke the bag of waters, and had my stimulate my nipples in a the shower. THAT brought on labor pretty strongly. I walked the halls for several hours with my neice, Sandy, and my best friend, Anita. I was very lucky that BOTH babies were head down, or I would've had to have a c section.
Around 1 pm, I found that I couldn't walk anymore, so they had me sit on a ball and in a rocking chair. Even that was painful. They asked me if I wanted anything for the pain and I told them no. I did my breathing and concentrated on my focal point and made it to 3:15, when I started pushing. Marissa was born first, followed by Caitlyn at 39 weeks and 3 days into the pregnancy. Marissa was 6# 15 oz, and Caitlyn was 6# 8 oz. Both girls were 20 inches long. I had no complications with the labor or delivery. And NO pain meds. They were born September 6, 1995 9 minutes apart.
Isabel's Birth Story
I'd been having false labor on and off for about 6 weeks. When the real thing was finally here I didn't know it. lol That is until I was in the bathtub at 8:30 am on October 2, 2003. My water broke while I was in the tub. I'd gone in there to see if I could stop the back pain and cramping I was having. I called the hospital and told them that my contractions were about 5 minutes apart. They told me to come in, because my water had broken.
9:30, I was checked by the doctor and found to only be 2cm dilated. I was disappointed. lol By 10:45, I was in ALOT of pain! It felt like it had with my first child. Perhaps because there had been 8 years in between the pregnancies that my body forgot what it was doing. But then again, it didn't. lol I was supposed to have a water birth, but the nurses didn't set the tub up in time. I had asked to go home, because I only lived 2 blocks away. This way I could spend some time at home. The doctor told me that it wasn't a good idea, because of the multiple children that I'd already had. I asked for some demoral (Sp?), but they took too long, and I didn't recieve it on time. It's a good thing that I listened and stayed at the hospital, because at 11:42, Isabel was born weighing 7# 14oz and measuring 20.5 inches long. I had been panting, my best friend called for a nurse, while two others were in the room taking my blood for blood tests and another was checking my blood pressure. WHILE Isabel was crowning. THey were TOTALLY not paying attention to my body signals and my noises. Which to this day annoys me. Finally, the doctor had come in to check on my progress, looked and remarked "Oh, we've got a head". When she was born, I noticed the silence in the room, and wondered what was going on. That's when I saw the bruise on her face, which later turned beet red. It was a port wine stain.
