My Jessica brag thread
I have to brag a bit about Jessica. She's an amazing girl...first, she didn't want Conner. She threatened to move out in the shed when he was born. My whole pregnancy she assured me she wouldn't like the baby. Almost from the start the exact opposite was true, and Jessica & Conner share a unique bond. In fact, there have been a couple instances where he's gone to her for comfort, and shrugged away from me. That stung a bit-but they truly do have a special bond.
Well, she got him up this morning while I was still in bed. Rich (their dad) was up brushing his teeth. Jessica forgot the baby gate & walked right through it, tripping & falling completely over. You know Conner didn't even touch the floor-nor did she fall on him? At 13, she was "with it" enough and controlled her fall as much as she could to shield him. Rich saw it & said she twisted in the midst of the fall so she would land on him.
THEN as if that wasn't great enough-this isn't Conner related but shows what a great girl she is. She witnessed a car accident this afternoon when she was home alone with her older sister. She grabbed the phone & ran to their aid before the car even came to a halt. The man had a gashed forehead so after calling 911, she got paper towels & ice for him. She even submitted her report to the police all on her own-they were here when Rich got home & relayed everything to him. Apparently the car hit one set of trees hard enough that it lifted off the ground & hit our tree...that tree is marked taller than my head. I'm goign to get pics tomorrow...it was too dark today.
She is so amazing. I'm really blessed with the best group of kids a mom could ask for. Bobbie is very introverted...she's an artist and a writer. She's in advanced English so I really have hopes for her. I should scan some of her drawings & share them.
