Default My new job

Is going well. It's quiet a lot, and sometimes I wonder if I'm really needed even though I've been assured it will get busy. I guess as long as I can, I will continue coming in every day

I did get to play with some new machines-like the super little eee pc machine (I had never heard of it before) and I opened the uber thin Apple laptop (the one that can fit into a manila envelop).

Pretty cool stuff. I just wish there was more of it.

Enjoy the quieter times because when the busy times arise, you probably won't have a chance to take a break. How is the time to interact with coworkers, building a foundation for teamwork.

DH's job is like that. 3/4 of the time he is super busy, working late hours. During the slower weeks, he has an extra assignment to keep busy.

There are no coworkers to socialize with. Just me & my boss in one room alone. No window. He's not a talker either.

What did you think of that thin laptop? DH wants one (boys and their toys, right?)

I agree, enjoy the quiet while you can. At least you can come here and post and get socialization that way :0)

I LOVED that thin laptop-and I'm not a mac person (yet-they're winning me over).

However, it's missing a cd drive and some other stuff. Thinkpad recently announced their super thin laptop. It's slightly bigger than the mac one, but has the cd and more gb, among other things. People who don't want to sacrifice will prefer the thinkpad, I believe.

Keep wishing. They're VERY expensive. Too expensive for that to be your toy....perhaps momma's
