Default My poor baby has allergies

Well the day before yesterday it finally warmed up! So I opened all the windows and turned off the heat, because MAN this house needed some fresh air. Well Alyssa did not sleep AT ALL that night because she was rubbing her face on everything, and sneezing and coughing. Apparently she has allergies pretty bad! I felt horrible for her. The next day I called the ped's office and talked to the nurse. She said, well we can't really diagnose babies that young with allergies (even after I told her I was SURE thats what was wrong...believe me if I didn't know what was wrong I would want to bring her in). She said 1/2 tsp. of children's benadryll at night would work. Well it worked WONDERS. In fact its the first time she slept through the night. She rubbed her face on me before, but I thought she was doing it because she was tired! She's so much better. But do I really want to get in the habit of giving her benadryl every night?

Well I'm glad she's feeling better. Grace has a cold right now too and can't sleep, so I completely understand how that goes! What if you don't give it to her the next night and see how that goes. Or they make air purifiers...that could help to take the allergens out of the air and help her to sleep.

BTW...I love your siggie! Such a cute little leprechaun! The headband cracks me us!

Yeah I have the same issue with Kaylee but more so at night. The doctor said that it's not allergies because babies this young don't have them. That didn't make sense to me because she's showing the same symptoms I get at night due to my allergies. He told me not to give her anything but when things get bad I give her a small dose of children's allergy medicine and it works and she's all good.

Also I've been using the humidifier because the doctor said it's the dry air that's the problem. That's been helping too.

Thanks!!! The headband was only a dollar so I figured why not when it would make such a cute photo!

Those are great ideas. I'll have to save up for one of those air purifiers...didn't even think of it I hoping she's not allergic to the kitties. Whats a good idea for finding out if she is? (besides get rid of them haha)

Since my husband and I are allergic to cats and own two of them (we take medicine for it) he said just to keep the cats out of her room and crib so that she's not laying in their hair.
