My puppy was it by a car today :( BUT there are really great people out there!
So today a guy pulls up in my drive way. I live on 10 acres out in the woods so it was kind of odd to have someone just "pull up" that we don't know. Anyway, he asks me if I know of anyone in the area that owns a Chocolate Lab puppy and I'm like yea I do and I've been looking for her. He then tells me that he hit her on the main road and rushed her to the Vet hospital. He says that he was REALLY sorry and just couldn't avoid her and that he had been driving around for hours and pulling into everyone's driveway trying to find the owner. I of course bust into tears and tell him thank you for coming to find me. There is a main road not too far from my house and the speed is 60mph. It's only 2 lanes but I always see dogs laying on the side of the road. It is sooo sad and one of my biggest fears with my dogs, but they have always been good about staying on my property. So I called the animal hospital and they said he brought my dog in and he was in tears and stayed there for 2 hours in the waiting room to make sure she would be ok. The vet told me that if he wouldn't have brought her right in she would have definitely died.... He then drove around for a few hours looking for the owner. Who does that anymore?? What an Angel this guy is!! He could have easily just kept driving on..... Anyway I just got back from the vet and she has a badly broken pelvis so she won't be able to walk for a few weeks but they expect her to make a full recovery. All I can say is THANK GOD for this guy. I have been trying to have a baby for a few years and this puppy is my "adopted" baby and she means the world to me and my kids!!!

Oh thank God he was such a decent, compassionate person, and that he had the time to find you and let you know what happened! I got a lump in my throat when you mentioned he was crying at the vet! I think I would totally lose it if I hit an animal, especially a puppy or kitten, !!!

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for my puppy! I am going to go visit her again today. They may have to keep her a few more days but hopefully she will be home soon. I think sometimes people forget how much a pet becomes a part of someones family.....

People like him are hard to find but his rare breed still exists. I teared up just reading the story. Glad to hear that your pup will be o.k. If you haven't already make sure you get his contact information so you can keep him on holiday card list and perhaps to send him a thank you gift.
