My twins birth story
Well as of the 2nd they are 6 months old...I can't believe it I can believe how big they are now and how far along they have come...
On Aug 1st 2007 I went to work and was fine I had planned to leave early to spend some time with my boys before my parents left the 2nd to go to Sc for my bro's family day and graduation on the 3rd from basic training...
I left work about 9pm and had a big of cramps in my side and I thought it was a pulled ligament as I was almost 32 weeks with twins...My gf that took me to clock out said I looked a bit pale and I told her my side was hurting and I didn't feel too great...
I was having some cramps driving home it was a 45min ride so I got home spent about 30min with my son's and told my mom I was gonna lay down I felt weird...I crashed out and woke at 2am with pain so bad I thought I was being stabbed...I was crying it hurt so bad and I got into the shower...That is when the contrax started about 5-8min apart...I called my ob's office and got the midwife my ob was in germany seeing her husband on his 2 weeks R&R cause he is a captain in the army...She planned that so she would be back the further I got along...The midwife told me to go to L&D but, she would not be there cause I was only 32 weeks along and was high risk but, if anything were to happen she would see me the next morn...I drove myself to the hospital I didn't want to bother my mom cause I thought it was preterm and I would be sent home...I got there at 4:45am and felt so weird like I was gonna black out...
I got changed and went pee in the cup and the nurse was started to freak out...My pee was brown and my liver was gonna shut down from internal bleeding but, we didn't know that was happening yet...I got hooked up and the contrax were then 4-6min apart...They couldn't find the babies heartbeats at first then found them both beating at 80BPM then the time to freak out happened they were screaming for a u/s tech stat they tech came in and realized right away twin A Andrew's placenta tore all the way off and he was sitting in a blood pool....
The on call doc came right in...He was middle eastern and had a strong accent and I couldn't understand a word being said...I was takin in for a emergency csection and Andrew was born at 5:41am and Kaelynn at 5:42am...
Andrew was 4lbs 7ozs and 16in long he was born dead and had to have blood sucked from his lungs...Kaelynn was 3lbs 11ozs and was 16in long...She was alot better off then he wa at birth...
He was transfered to a different hospital with a better NICU unit...
I know deep down I died somewhere during it all...I saw a man standing in the corner...He was talking to me and I stood next to him and watched them take the babies out...I heard the docs and all saying I was losing too much blood and I would need to get some blood...The the man looked at me and said you have to go back home...Then I know I was getting a IV and I ended up not needing blood...The babies were in the hospital for 3 weeks...

Wow!!!!! I'm glad you and your babies are ok and you got there in time! It is amazing how quickly things can progress and we think "oh it's nothing" because the doc said it's ligmant pain or whatever excuse your doc choses at the time and ya come to find out it really WAS something...The same sort of thing happened to me with both of my babies. I had pain in my lower left side that the doc said was just growing pain but a week later the baby was born! Both were early but the second one was way too early. I keep thinking I should have known but when things are happening it's hard to think straight and to get the doctors to listen to you. I am babbling!!! I'm just glad you and your little ones are okay and I hope you and your babies continue to do well!!!!!

What a scarey birth story! But, luckily you had a happy ending with both you and the babies (after their hospital stay) being healthy.
Good thing you went to the hospital when you did, or the outcome may have been different for all 3 of you.

No he was really born dead they had to suck blood from his lungs and revive him then get him stable enough for transport...They don't know exactly how long he was without oxygen and they don't know what long term effects it will have on him when he starts school...
My twins are 6 months and still can't sit or roll over but, the ped said I also have to go by the age even though they are 6 months the should have been just turning 4 months the end of Jan since I wasn't due till Sept 23rd and they came Aug 2nd...So I can't compair them to a full term baby...

Yes, preemies always go by adjusted age until about 2 years old. I'm glad that you and the babies are okay. That was very scary I'm sure.
