I have my Dr. appt. tomorrow and I dont really want to take any OTC stuff until I talk to the Dr. Can any of you ladies help me???? What are some natural ways to help my throat?? I've tried gargling salt water and drinking warm things but its not helping! Uhhhhh I just feel so crappy today! I could kill my mom for not telling me my brother was sick!!! Errrrrr

Oohhh, I hope you feel better, it sounds ike you might have strept throat. I use Apple cider vinegar. If you hate the taste, use honey/lemon mixture.
Mix one teaspoon to 2 tablespoons appe cider vinegar in a glass of water. You can mix it as strong as you can stand it. Gargle one mouthful every hour, swallowing afterward. Repeat twice each time. This treatment can cure a streptococcic sore throat in 24 hours. The acid in the ACV is very helpful in soothing and minimizing the sore throat, and, if you swallow it, the extra potassium is also beneficial. Note: After using this remedy be sure to rinse your mouth with water to prevent the acid from eroding the enamel on your teeth.

Keep drinking a big glass of something hourly. Yes, hourly to keep your throat open and moisturized.

Strep throat is no fun at all. I get deathly sick when I get it. Glad to hear you're going to the doctor tomorrow.

Tylenol for fever is ok.

Place a throat lozenge in a tall glass of very hot water, slowly sip. That should help too.

Drink TONS of fluids! I would say if you are comfortable to use a throat lozenge. They are topical so are safe during pregnancy. Hope you are feeling better soon hun.

Try drinking a warm caffeine free tea w/ lemon. Also you can use a cool mist humidifier.

I had Dh run to the store and get me all kinds of goodies! I'm trying everything! I am pretty sure its not Strep. Whenever I get Strep. I get a very bad swelling in my neck. I guess it is just a reaction. I dont have any swelling so far. My appt. is at 11:15am (CST) So I really dont have to wait to much longer! I am hoping the Dr. will give me something for my allergies to. I am pretty sure that the constant nasal discharge is making my throat worse. Thanks ladies! I am going try all of the above! Thanks again!

You could try getting some Ricola natural cough drops, I like the original because they taste like peppermint. Also, have you tried drinking tea? Nothing with caffeine of course, but maybe peppermint or lemon? Also, you could call your OB's office and see what they suggest.

As for the allergies, I had the ok to take Claritin while I was pregnant, so you may want to ask about that!

I hope you feel better sweetie! Let us know how your appointment goes!
