Default Need blog ideas for World Breastfeeding Week

Well girls next week is World Breastfeeding Week. So I want to 'celebrate' (that's really not the right word but gosh I'm tired) in the baby blog w/ some breastfeeding articles. Wanna help?

Ask me a question, tell me what you'd like to know more about, on the theme. Thanks!

Pardon me if you have covered this already, but...

Towards the end of pregnancy my boobs got huge, and after birth my nipples became inverted. Didn't leave much for the poor girl to latch onto. So, I had to use something called a nipple shield and wear these other "shield type things" when I wasn't feeding to help draw them out. Ouch! Anyways, these things are hard to use! Some advice for moms who may have to use them would be great. One thing I noticed-they kept coming off when she would suck, and I had to hold them on, while holding her...it was an insane amount of work-I really thought it would be easier than that.

Anyways, just an idea.

Different ways to hold baby. There is more than one way to get the job done!

A friend from work even managed to BF with a broken arm & a cast. Her MIL was a great help in helping to position baby and work around the cast. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Great idea ladies. Jean I've done a couple on nipple shields but never one about breastfeeding with inverted nipples. I'll see what I can do.

Those are great ideas ladies. I'll get to working!

Yeah-inverted nipples definately make breastfeeding a BIG challenge.

I wonder if they'd have stayed that way if I kept bf'ing and still had the huge boobs. Not sure I would have liked it much...

Am I the only one that has happened to?

No. . .it's a moderately common problem. But for all of my 8+ years of breastfeeding experience it's one I've actually not had

I have twins, so I think a blog article about how to breastfeed twins (or higher multiples)... I have twins but they're 13 now and I only breastfed them a week and it almost killed me (first babies and the breastfeeding advice that I did have access to was inadequate.)

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

I'm a mother of 4, including a set of twins.

I have twins too. . . as you can probably tell from the siggy. I've written lots and lots of stuff on twins, including breastfeeding multiples. But you're right, there's not a lot out there for us moms. And if they were preemies then it's a totally different ball game. Mine are two and are still bfing but they were my 4th & 5th so I was able to figure out what to do to accomodate doing two at once. I'll re-visit that article and see if I have anything to add now that we're still nursing.
