Default Need new healthy recipes

It's that time again when my husband and I are getting sick of our same few meals. Does anyone have any low-calorie dinner ideas??

I had gotten the same way when I was diagnosed with PCOS and "pre-diabetes". My nutritionalist has us counting calories and carbs...It has been really easy. I got my treadmill on Monday, but a piece was broken, so they have to send that to me, so I haven't done anything on that, and just by watching a few meals, I have lost 7 pounds in the past month and have not been exercising.....I personally LOVE George Stella who is the Low Carb and Loving It guy from foodnetwork.com, and Juan Carlos Cruz is good also. I got on of George Stella's cookbooks a few weeks back and I have really enjoyed using it. His Veggie Pizza is to die for....He makes it so simple to do. He went from 467 lbs to 210 lbs, so he is doing something right. It all depends on how your body processes the sugar.

Here are a few links I have been using:

http://vgs.diabetes.org/recipe/index.jsp

http://www.calorieking.com/recipes/

http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/lowcarb-recipes.html

http://www.recipesecrets.net/forums/

One of the first things I learned was to read the labels, it may be "no fat", and be just as many calories as the regular item. I have went pretty much with "low fat" because the taste is there, but the calories are just about the same as the "no fat" stuff - I would rather have 10 more calories and be able to stand the taste than not....

Sorry, rambling again....Hope you find a recipe on one of those sites that you like...

Default my resources

Hi,I struggle with cooking the right way for my health. I have been sick on and off for several years and no one seems to know why. The only thing that has helped me is cutting out wheat and being very low on simple carbs. A side benefit of this was losing weight...too much actually...now I have trouble keeping enough weight on me. I will keep eating this way until I know for sure what is causing me to be sick. I personally think it has something to do with sugar or maybe an allergy. However, the main cookbooks I have used to help me learn to eat this way are the Eat Right 4 Your Type and its cookbook version Cook Right 4 Your Type, The Yeast Connection Cookbook, and the Sonoma Diet Cookbook. I hope you have much success! Nothing is more important that being healthy.

Thanks for the links! I also try to cook more healthy meals than in the past. I try to avoid fat and make my kids eat vegetables and fruits. I have a nice cookbook that has a lot of recipes with vitamins and the kids seem to like the healthy food. You just have to explain them why the food is good for them.

I use my George Foreman grill to grill boneless/skinless chicken breasts. I season them with Le Madeleine's rosemary seasoning or a simple combo or onion and garlic powder. Then I chop them up and serve them over salad greens or romaine lettuce. Dressing I use either raspberry vinigarette or a little ranch. What's also really good is fresh spinach with cranberries and a lite vinigarette with chopped walnuts or pecans.
