Nervous about getting snipped
I am kinda nervous about Mikey getting snipped before we have the baby. What is something happens between now and then? I guess it makes more since to do it now, before the baby gets here than in the 6 weeks without....... Just what ifs

How come you guys don't want to wait until after the baby is here? Or what about the IUD for a while until you feel absolutely positive that it's time for him to go in?

we know its time! 5 kids is more than enough. We planned on waiting at least 5 years before having this one. I think we have our boy now, its time to stop. I am just worried that someone will have to our boy, and then have no way to try again.
I personally will never get another IUD, and protection and Bfing did not work after Cristianna, so I think maybe just before the baby is due. Maybe late Ssseptember

There is only a 40% chance that a reversal is a success, you cannot change your mind on issues like this.
If you wait until your baby is born, then your partner will be out of action for a few days, not only that you have to wait 8 weeks (thats the time here) until he can have a sperm count test, then you have another done four months after the surgery to ensure that it has worked.

Oh wow I didn't know this was #5! But anyway, only you two will know what's right for your family. Hope you are able to work things out! What does DH think?

We waited until our son was 3 months old before getting the snip done. They aren't laid up that long. He sat around and did nothing the day of the surgery, then was back to helping out with the kids the following day.
Keep in mind that it takes about 2 months before they are considered sterile. So depending on when you decide to get it done, you may still have to be very careful or find another method of BC.

I'd definitely wait until after the birth, but like Samual said---there is your 6 week recovery that would be a good time to get it done.

the reason I would like to get it done before is that even with bc and bfing Cristi we still got pregnant. Maybe that is the way is was meant to be, I really dont want to wait till there is another chance. we are both done and we know it, I really dont think something will happen, but its always a fear in the back of my head.
