My 5-year-old son has some very nervous habits. We have suspected that he may have hyperactivity or OCD. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced some of his behaviors and, if so, what is your opinion on treatment?

Apart from being very active (running, jumping, flailing, rowdiness, etc.), he has some rather frightening habits. He picks his fingers and toes until they bleed.

We ask him why he does this, and he can't answer. We have admonished him about these habits, threatening trips to the doctor to treat him. It doesn't matter.

Any ideas?
