Default New Marsh coupon policy

This is from their website marsh.net: (does this mean that those of us that use NUMEROUS multiples are going to rejected becuase they will assume they came from a shopping site??)

• Marsh Coupon Policy •

Marsh Supermarkets has elected to accept all coupons excluding the following:
Photo Copies
$5 or greater coupons
Free Item coupons
Coupons purchased via online shopping sites
Coupons that appear to have been altered

Marsh reserves the right to ask customer for ID when accepting any internet coupons.

NOTE:
There are a number of counterfeit coupons currently being circulated on the Internet. This is a criminal offense that can be investigated and prosecuted by Federal, State or local law enforcement authorities. Penalties can be severe. Offenders will be identified and prosecuted.

Protect yourself: You should not purchase any auctions involving the transfer of electronic files or "unlimited"; "Internet"; or home printed coupons.

Be aware that the sale or auction of coupons can result in Civil actions (i.e., a law suit).

Default Re: New Marsh coupon policy

Well actually it is an improvement on internet coupons isn't it? Before at least at my strict store, no internet coupons were accepted except for the ones from the Marsh site that had the extra bar code thing on it. There had been a real (like in the store right before me) ring of coupon fraud using hundreds of $$ of supposedly internet free coupons. Then they went no internet except from their site.

No coupons for "frees" is a new one for me. Free coupons had to have someone come up and override, which was a hassle. So I didn't use too many of those at Marsh.

From shopping sites, how would they know?? Esp. for those of us stuck w/ limits. Maybe those who don't have strict limits in their stores might have to start limiting themselves so not to bring attention to their coupons. How are they going to tell someone who gets them from online vs. someone like me who has several inserts from family/friends? One way, I guess, would be the ever present watchful eye of a certain "lord of coupon use". I guess maybe folks shouldn't mention ordering cpns/getting coupons in posts. I don't know.
"Shopping sites" might just include the big coupon businesses??

Doesn't some of the jargon in that policy sound familiar? I wonder where they have been getting letters and information from? hmmm...I'm thinking of three letters... Someone needs to start their own pro coupon propaganda group to send out info. I wish i had the time...

Overall just shows how "coupon friendly" Marsh is. hahaha

Unhappy Re: New Marsh coupon policy

The only things I like about Marsh is the overage part. So far a couple of stores in my area are still coupon friendly and I expect that to change soon and then I will just not shop then any more.
