Red face Newbie looking for support

Hello everyone. My name is Jillian and I am new to this board today. My hubby and I have been married for 5 years, I am 35 he is 48. He has been blessed with a beautiful daughter who is 10 years old. We are very greatful for her, but we are trying to conceive a baby of our own.

4 years ago my husband had a vescectomy reversal, which was not entirely successful but horrible on our savings!! Then when the doc decided to test me, 2 fibroids were discovered and two surgeries had to take place over the last 2 years. Finally when we were ready to start trying again, a sonohystogram landed me in the hospital with PID.

At the end of it all, I am finally fertile and ready to go but hubby has low mobility and a low count. So, we researched for a few months and found ourselves a donor who services fresh samples. This donor has the charactoristics that match our own and a wonderful disposition - it seems like a match made in heaven!! We have done everything correctly with safety issues and paperwork and have had one attempt to date which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We are very comfortable with this gentleman, and he is very professional and courteous. We have to travel to a neighbouring Province for the service (a 6 hour drive one way) but this kind man does not ask for any payment - he services simply to help infertile couples.

We plan to try for several months and if unsuccessful will probably try IUI at my local clinic. Our donor already said he would travel to give the sample if we asked - how much nicer can a person be!!?!?

So, I guess I am here to find some support, advice and encouragement as we continue our journey to try and have our baby...the one thing we are lacking in our happy little home.

I sure look forward to replies! Thank you...

Hi there and welcome!!

My last child was conceived because of a generous known donor (DH can't have bio kids). It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'angel on Earth', because that is what he is. We conceived in the privacy of our home - if you'd like to talk more or have questions, feel free to PM me.
