Default No-Cost Date Ideas

What do you guys do to have a "date" that doesn't cost anything?
One of our favorites is to go to the mall. We enjoy walking around and holding hands and looking at everything. We don't have to spend a penny!

I actually just wrote a blog about this...it's called, "The importance of blowing bubbles". Check it out when you can, it's about having a "date" with your husband even when you can't get out of the house.

This isn't completely free, but its very cheap . . . after eating dinner at the mall and walking the mall, we would go to the dollar movie on the two-for-one night.

There's a movie theatre we both go back to thats in our home town. It's the old fashioned kind, with only 1 screen. They have $1 shows.
We'll grab coffee and head down to a park on the river and walk and talk and sit on the bench and just stare off at the future and think about the past.
I'll load up the mp3 player and we just drive around.
Not exactly free, but affordable.

It's not hard to find things to do that don't cost anything.

My favorite thing to do is to go to the park and stare out at the lake and possibly feed ducks and just walk around.

I also love hiking and spending other time outdoors - this is free and can be turned into a date.

Instead of eating dinner out at a restaurant - cook a special meal at home, and make a picnic on a blanket in front of the TV.

By the way, the important of blowing bubbles is a great article!

My husband and I take a bike ride or a walk together. It's definitely multi-tasking (get in that workout when you can) but we end up talking a lot and it's fun. Even if we just have half an hour kid-free we might go for a short ride. It's also nice to get some fresh air.

! How funny!!! I know, it's hard for my dh & I to even find time for a date night anymore. But, our thing (when we get the chance) is going out to dinner at a local seafood rest. that we both love! I know, it's not exactly cheap...but that's what we do. Sometimes, if we're not feeling too full & fat after our meals, we will go watch sunset at the beach.

Some cities have free concert-in-the-park type events. Bring along a picnic basket (and maybe a bottle of wine, if alcohol is allowed).
