As Families.com is growing, we thought it would be fun for families to be able to find, network with and make friends with other families in their area. These families could talk about local issues, local events, local support groups, local politics and other issues specific to that location. These families could share reviews of restaurants, doctors, schools, politicians, parks and other businesses. We thought it would be nice to know which businesses and services other families liked and disliked. These families could provide reviews of local entertainment, culture and other attractions for other families who might take a vacation to that area. The families could have online garage sales or give away hand-me-down items to other families in the area who might be able to use them. These families could form local support groups, get together and go out to lunch (keeping safety issues in mind), or come together to support a local good cause.

This is our vision for the Families.com Local area. We encourage everyone to start off by introducing themselves on their local forum. Share whatever you feel comfortable and appropriate. What do you like to do for fun? Tell us about your family. Why do you come to Families.com? What kind of friends would you like to meet? What are your favorite things about the area where you live? My name is Susan and I live in Fayetteville, NC.
I am a stay at home mom with five kids. I home school one, who has autism and mild mr. I have another child with mild autism but he goes to school at this time. I run a local support group for families that home school special needs children and I teach arts/crafts to prek/k at another homeschool enrichment group.
I am involved as much as possible with my church, and love the people who attend it. They must be the friendliest people I've ever met! Especially for being such a large church! The name is Arran Lake Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
I like to read, scrapbook and listen to music (when I have the time for any of that!).

Hello! I am a SAHM with some medical issues. I have 2 daughters, Hannahlynne AKA The Hannahcane or Hardhead is 4 and can destroy an anvil with a rubber mallet and Heather who would be 20 now. Heather passed away unexpectedly at 14.
I have been a widow since I was 19. I also volunteer as a wildlife rehabilitator out of my home. We recently moved from Rockingham county to Lexington. I had 2 strokes when I was 34 and several TIAs. I have memory issues now because of them.

I've been lurking on families.com for a couple of months now and have decided the best forums are the ones that are well-attended and active, so now I'm doing my part for our local forum.
I live in Garner, NC (just SE of Raleigh) with my boys: Alex, almost 7; Jackson, almost 5 (on Valentine's Day) and The Claw (so called because, in his words, he hangs on tight and for as long as he can) who's real name is Howard.
I joined families.com because I'm totally addicted to saving money and discovered the coupon and retailer forums.
I'm a small business owner (I own two food-based franchises), love to ride The Claw's Harley, cook, coupon, and let the North Carolina coast soothe my soul (we're down to Topsail Island about every other month).

Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm from Randleman, NC. It is a small town but very comfortable. We can go 4 hours and be at the beach or the mountains and I truly love both! I am recently unemployed and thinking about a work at home job. Haven't come up with anything promising yet but still looking. I have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren. I love to cook and try out new recipes, work in the yard, and go on an occasional motorcycle with DH. I love Families.com for the money saving ideas I get. My name is Amber and I am a stay at home mom now for 3 years. I have a 3 year old girl named Bethany Grace and a little boy on the way!!! His name will be Lucius Alexander, due date is for June 3rd. I hope to go early!!! My husband and I have been married for 5 years now, but have known each other for 8 years!! We live in Winston Salem, North Carolina and just built our first house a year and half ago. I love it here, although I don't have that many people to talk to. There are many things that I love to do like taking walks, knitting, cooking, and just spending time with family and friends. If anyone likes to do the same things, I would love to talk or hang out!!
