Default Not getting my tubes tied...

Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not...

I decided today that I am not getting my tubes tied after my c-section. DH and I talked about it and he said that he would rather be "sniped" then have my tubes tied. Just with reading up on it, it seemed safer for him, and more likely to work. The only problem is, I already signed all the papers and everything else... The doctors are not in until Monday ((other than emergency cases of course)) so I can't just call the office. Can I still back out?

Yes you can. You can back out right up until they are ready to prep you for surgery. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time between now and Scarlette's birth to let your intentions be known.

DH and I both got snipped. We wanted to make 1000% sure but we still have something like one in a billion chance to get pregnant again. Those are odds I really like.

I'm with you Nicole, it is safer for him to be done , I'd just make sure they know, and anyway arent you having a spinal for the c section they should be able to talk to you there!

I chose not to get mine done either, let him get fixed!! It's a whole lot easier to do his than it is to do yours

Yes, you can still back out. My Dr. said part of why they make you sign the papers 30 days out is to give you time to think about your decision so they know you've thought it through and are not making an impulsive/emotional decision.

Our deal has always been that if I had a c-section with our last it would be me, but if not, it would be him. I'm pregnant right now with #2 (and the completion of our family). Since I had a vaginal delivery with DS any c-section I have will most likely be an emergency--therefore not giving me the 30 day "waiting period". DH will get "snipped" soon after the birth of our little one next fall.

I can't see why you could not change your mind now. I can't imagine they would tell you you had to still get it done.

On a side note....how the heck did you all convince your hubby to get snipped? I took him to my MALE Gyno who flat out told him it was safer for him and a relativly easy proceedure and he still won't even discuss it. I told him I was gonna do it at home
