I must confess, my daughter only did this twice. The first time, I got such a fright I retaliated by smacking her. It took 6 months for her to try it again, and my response was much less reactive. I simply removed her from the breast, and sat her down on the floor, and walked away, saying that she could not bite mummy.
She never did it again.
My son tried chewing the breast. it took him a little longer to get the message. Again, I removed him from myself as well as the breast. Interesting that they hate being placed on the floor in the middle of a feed!
Good luck!
BTW - have you tried amber beads - old wives tale cure for teething pain.
