Default not sure where to post this...(updated 9-16)

dh has had things like this happen before...I just always thought he was hallucinating but now I am not sure. Once I thought it was a seizure but his doctor says he isn't having any.

So 6 years ago, we were laying in bed and I was talking to him about random stuff about my day. He was very tired because at the time we were both working 40 hours plus going to school 40 hours and he was in competitions...He freaked out and was yelling and trying to get away from something that wasn't there. It was werid lol I thought he was dreaming when he told me what he saw. He said that he was looking at me and saw a ghost that rose up out of my body and was hovering over me looking at him.

He has seen a flashlight on the bed shining in his eyes when there isn't one.

He had another similar incident happen about 6 months ago (ish) I was brushing my teeth and he was laying in bed and started moaning and I went to him and touched him and he arched his back and I saw his eyes were rolled back in his head and he had goosebumps and appeared to be having trouble getting air in. It was scary because I didn't know what to do...it was a few minutes and he layed down and woke up and told me about his scary dream where he saw a face that was scary and it went into him and he felt like he couldn't breath and he couldn't see and was trying to call to me but couldn't talk.

Last night I was again talking to him.....and he jumped. I asked why he jumped and he said he had a dream and something went through him. He layed back down and it was literally 30 seconds later he was struggling to breath and his eyes were rolled back in his head and he was mouthing my name but nothing was coming out! I tried to wake him but nothing seemed to help. I was actually afraid he was going to hit me (which is weird cause he never has and isn't violent) So a few minutes go by again and he wakes up...and tells me about how it felt like something was in his head and it was like a loud wind and he couldn't move or breath and he just kept praying till he was...himself again.

I don't know what to think!!! Is he nuts? or is it something else?? I don't know how to help him?

wow, that sounds really scary! I'm not sure what I'd do... have you talked to him about what you can do, like is he willing to see a doctor or something?
I really dont know what to say. But I'll be remembering you in my prayers

He's seen a neurologist about it...who doesn't seem to think it is anything but vivid dreams. It just seems so weird to me. It seems like more than just dreams. He stops breathing...I don't know. I don't know what other sort of doctors to pursue?

Get a second opinion ASAP!!!!!!!
Did he ever do drugs as a teen that may be having "flashbacks" from???
I went to highschool with a boy who was given an overdose of acid (major overdose) and had no idea. (It was put in his sandwhich at lunch) Well, needless to say he flipped out, bad!!!! So, 2 weeks after he got out of the hospital he had a flashback and attacked his mother. He thought she was the devil......he mamed her. She will never be the same, nor will her. All from a flashback!!!!
I am not trying to freak you out......nor am I implying that he ever did drugs!!!! Just, sometimes the things that you do as a teen come back to haunt you.
It sounds more like some kind of seizure disorder. But by no means am I a doctor. I would definitely send him to another doctor. and another and another ....till you get an answer.

You are describing a seizure. He needs to see another neurologist. And you need to describe the symptoms.

sorry, i wanted to quote & highlight that last part. go with him and tell the doctor yourself what's going on. you know how men are -- oh, i was just having this dream and i couldn't breathe or see. when really it's "oh, my eyes are going back in my head, i can't breathe and this this and that."

my DH does it every time he goes to the doctor. he'll be a big baby and complain about it til we get to the doctor, then it goes "oh, it's nothing. i'm not even in any pain." [til we get to the car]

Ditto--if you tell a doctor that his eyes were rolling into the back of his head they will take you very seriously.
