Default Nursing Necklaces

Has anybody ever used these?? Do they actually work?? Elliott keeps grab and twisting my breasts every time he feeds so I'm wondering if these actually distract and give the baby something to play with?

I'm thinking about getting one because Libby is so nosey she gets bored. She will twiddle my hair or my shirt for a bit but if anyone walks in the room she'll turn to look behind her doesn't seem to matter that i'm squirting milk over her. hehe

I have found it to work well for some of my kids and for others it was more trouble than it's worth. I wouldn't buy one though. . .I made mine.

I never used one, but have known several ladies who did.

Great idea making your own necklace! Arts & crafts and the other kids could help you.

thanks guys...I actually got a kit yesterday to make necklaces for my dd and I just made one for Elliott out of that. We had lots of fun. So far he shows no interest in it so I guess we'll see if it works or not. Thanks!!

Here's a pic of the one I made (the "hu" doesn't stand for anything...I was just filling in space)

Too cute!

Are you sure it isn't an N and an H?
...as in a little Nosh and Hug?

I found some safety tips on making your own nursing necklaces:

Use non-toxic plastic beads.

No wooden beads as they can splinter.

No glass beads as they will chip, break, and shatter.

Be certain your cording is quite strong.

Should the threads break all over the floor = a choking hazard.

Hemp cording is known to get soggy, smelly and then easily breakable.

Use a safety clasp or strong knot to protect your child so your necklace is not a choking hazard or an accident waiting to happen.

Do not leave baby unattended with the nursing necklace.
