[For little Elza]

We started our little one on some baby foods when she was 7 months old because the doctor did not want her to have anything other than plain rice cereal. She did not even get that until she was 5 months old. Anyway, she is on Nutramigen due to severe milk and soy protein allergies. She will be on this until she is 1 year old and it is expensive!

Jaunie doesn't eat very well. She gets some stage 2 and stage 3 foods, but mostly solid blends that have veggies or meats... or fruits. She does dig meat sticks.

We haven't given her much in terms of solid foods. She gets some plain breads and toast. She has had oatmeal.

Anyone have suggestions on what solids might be non-threatening to a baby with these kinds of allergies? What kinds of baby foods are there out there? What can I do at home from the produce section?

She is a terrible sleeper and wakes to eat. I do wish I could get her to eat at least a little bit more so that she might only get up 1 or 2 times, versus 3 to 4. She is 8 months old now... what to do?

Might I also add that when she is exposed to something in her environment (like a dog) or a food that she is allergic to, she immediately breaks out into hives all over her body which then result in a bad case of ezcema... even on her little scalp which flakes easily and drives the poor baby crazy for want to scratch. She also becomes very irritable and even refuse to drink her bottle or eat. The doctor has her on a prescription for her skin when needed and we use Benadryl for reactions. She can tolerate some things, and doc says just take it slow. I think we are taking it too slow?
